  • The Karanyi Sounds Minipol is a fantastic synth. I think about it as an alternative for the Roland Cloud Juno-60 when I want stereo detuning of oscillators. The reverb options fill out the sound nicely & going down the extensive list of reverbs proves to be wonderful for finding an option that compliments the sound perfectly. Definitely the wow knob is a must for giving subtle motion to the oscillators. There are a few quirks with the filter envelope amount & the filter LFO gain but certain settings smooth out any issues. The other quirk that bothers me most of all is that the LFOs aren’t free running so that you get the same start phase each for the gain & filter LFOs as opposed to motion throughout subsequent notes. The sub options are a nice touch & the filter on the noise is really beautiful too. The patch browsing system of folders for the instrument types is ideal. The second filter is wonderful for adding a boost to the low end in high pass mode or taming high frequencies in low pass mode when complimented with a high pass filter for your first filter option. The omission of a mix knob on the chorus is a miss for me & caused me never to program with it on. However given the chorusing effect of four oscillators with unique fine tuning control for each you can dial in your own chorusing. I’m very glad I bought the Minipol & I see myself using it when I want something beautiful with detuned width.

  • SMART RANDOM CONTROL is a great idea and I am enjoying creating new presets. As a result, good sound is produced. It would be better if intermediate RANDOM PRSETs were created between PRESETs. It would be nice if there was a global learn midi because learn midi works only in the preset.
