Meet the team – Gabor
September 6, 2024“This instrument is a goldmine of inspiration, which is why it’s one of my favorites.”
Short Introduction
I’ve been with the company since 2021, initially working as a music producer, sound designer, and audio engineer, and since 2023, I’ve transitioned into software development. My work has always been driven and inspired by the audio aspect—creating new sounds and experiences, and providing users with tools to inspire fresh musical solutions.
1. What was the first VST/instrument/ you used, and how did it influence your musical journey?
Since my childhood, I’ve been captivated by synthesizers, as they produce sounds that you don’t usually hear in nature, opening up exciting new worlds for me. Essentially, I’ve spent my life exploring these worlds in various ways, which eventually led me from music production to sound engineering and now to software development.
2. What motivates you when working on a new product?
I’m always motivated by musical diversity, and my main goal is to support that through my work. I want the tools we develop to make it easier for users to create new sounds and explore new musical worlds.
3. What challenges do you encounter in your work, and how do you solve them?
A significant part of software development is about solving challenges. There’s always something new to learn, but bringing ideas to life also presents unique challenges that often require creative solutions. For me, effective solutions are always a blend of research, creativity, and systematic problem-solving.
4. How do you see the future of music software and VSTs?
These days, we’re seeing a lot of new solutions and opportunities emerging, so I see the future in innovative approaches that shake up the audio industry. Right now, AI solutions have made a big impact, and I see huge potential in using them in ways that might not immediately come to mind.
5. What music genres do you listen to most often, and how does this influence your work?
I enjoy all music genres, but I gravitate toward originality and quality. That said, I often lean towards electronic genres because they offer more surprising and new sounds. When I listen to music, it’s a professional habit for me to analyze the sounds, considering how they were created, and what synthesis and techniques were used, and I draw inspiration from this for my daily work as well.
6. What are your favorite products from us and why?
Cloudmax 2: As a music producer under the name Aeron Aether, my tracks often feature large reverbs and granular effects, so the Cloudmax solved this need for me in a high-quality and inspiring way. It’s excellent for atmospheres, vocals, leads, and even drums. It’s also the first product I was involved in developing as a software developer at Karanyi Sounds, which makes it especially close to my heart.
Polyscape Nova: This instrument is a goldmine of inspiration, which is why it’s one of my favorites. With a wide range of sound sources, many editing options, and randomization buttons, it’s easy to quickly create unique, inspiring sounds, helping me stay in the creative flow during music production.
